Overview

This project focuses on creating a local social app designed to enhance community engagement and foster stronger neighbourhood connections. Addressing the common issue of disconnection among neighbours, the app provides a safe and organised platform for users to interact, seek help, share resources, exchange skills, and facilitate local buying and selling. By bridging gaps in communication and promoting collaboration, the app empowers individuals to build supportive, vibrant communities where people can connect meaningfully and improve their local interactions.

UX research

We conducted extensive workshops and interviews to deeply understand community needs and preferences. Based on this research, we conceptualized a platform that enables neighbours to connect through events, meetups, skill-sharing activities, or even simple, calming activities like silent walks. The ultimate goal is to foster a safe and supportive environment where people feel a sense of trust, security, and happiness within their local community.

Compiling results

We are currently compiling the results of our research, which reveal a clear need for an application that addresses complex challenges such as loneliness, security, resource and skill sharing, and collaborative funding to support one another within the community.

My role

Worked as - Founder

As the initiator and lead of this project, I am driving the effort to conceptualize and develop a solution that addresses the challenges of community disconnection. My role encompasses conducting thorough research to identify and validate the need for such a platform, supporting my hypothesis with data gathered through workshops, interviews, and community studies. Additionally, I am spearheading the design and development process to create a meaningful, user-focused solution that fosters trust, security, and collaboration among neighbours. This initiative is a personal endeavor to make a tangible impact by solving real-world problems and enhancing community engagement.
